Apartment Shelter Program
Family Promise of Tulsa County alleviates the three primary stressors of being homeless by providing shelter, LIMITED transportation, financial literature, and case management services for up to 90 days while our case manager and the families work together on individual case plans for success. The majority of the families welcomed into our program come with little to no resources, therefore, FPTC provides the financial means to obtain birth certificates and ID’s upon entry thereby enabling the parents to seek and obtain employment and enroll their children in school or daycare. This is a vital first step in the process of regaining a family’s independence. While in the program all basic necessities such as diapers, formula, hygiene items, toiletries, and limited gas cards, are coved which reduces the stress on the families and allows them to focus on obtaining employment, saving money, finding and securing a home of their own.
Our Apartment Shelters are used as a 30 to 90-day home for a families as they work toward self-sufficiency. When they do, a new family experiencing homelessness will enter the apartment shelter and receive the same intense case management that empowers them on their path to sustainable independence.

Future Begins at Home
Prevention/Diversion Program
There is a critical need for prevention and diversion services in the Tulsa area. The Future Starts at Home program is a vital strategy to address homelessness and provide support to vulnerable families.
By intervening early and providing targeted assistance, we can help families on the brink of homelessness maintain their housing stability and divert them from entering the cycle of homelessness altogether.

This is a ONE-TIME financial contribution of up to $1,000 per family.
Our prevention/diversion program has limited funds, therefore, we are unable to offer financial assistance to every family that applies. If we are able to assist you, we will contact you to request supporting documentation. If we do not receive the requested documents within 12 hours, your application will be closed. If we are unable to provide assistance, please contact 211 for additional resources.
